My name is Krzysztof Banach. I am a historian, Jewish studies scholar, guide, and genealogical researcher specializing in Jewish genealogy in Poland.

What makes my work unique is the combination of genealogical research, academic historical expertise, Jewish studies, oral history experience, and field-based heritage interpretation. This allows me not only to locate historical records, but also to reconstruct, interpret, and contextualize the lives behind them.

For more than fifteen years, I have helped individuals and families from around the world uncover their Jewish roots, reconstruct family histories, and reconnect with the communities and places shaped by generations of Jewish life in Poland. Drawing on archival sources in Polish, Russian, and German, supported by working knowledge of Hebrew and Yiddish, I combine historical scholarship, archival expertise, and extensive field experience to transform records and family memories into meaningful, well-documented family histories.

My professional background includes work with some of Poland’s leading institutions dedicated to history, memory, and Jewish heritage, including the Majdanek State Museum, the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, the Jewish Historical Institute, the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, and the Museum of Polish History. I have also led oral history projects and conducted hundreds of biographical interviews, giving me extensive experience in working with personal narratives, verifying family stories, and enriching them with documented historical evidence.

Alongside my archival work, I bring more than twenty years of experience as a guide working throughout Poland. This perspective enables me to connect historical research with the physical places where family histories unfolded, helping clients understand their ancestors not only through documents, but also through the landscapes, communities, and cultural environments that shaped their lives.
